Squares squares and more squares

I'm working on an afghan for my bed. This is square one! Yay! I've just barely started square two. I'm also working on a sweater that is knit on my KK Yellow Loom. I would take a pic but all it really looks like right now is a hat on there or something. lol. It is knit in four pieces with flat panel knitting. It is therefore taking a while. I'm knitting it with two strands of Homespun in two different colors.
I wish Ravelry had a way to show knitting with looms too....maybe they will work on that at some point. *shrug*
We have snow here tonight! It is falling in big fat flakes. I get to stay home tomorrow since the pest control guy is coming (we have a mouse). I am going to clean in the morning and knit all afternoon. Yippee! Probably they will cancel school anyway. They do when the snow barely falls.
OH! I also found out from my dear friend and The Yarn Harlot's blog that she is coming to Nashville soon for a book signing of her newest book. I am going!!!
Well ya'll...I'm out

Another hat for me this time!

I did my first roll up hat on my Knifty Knitter and some cool yarn I got from the yarn stash a couple weeks ago! I love it! It is so light and airy feeling and black and white are favs of mine.

Now, believe it or not, I have nothing OTN! I bought a summer top pattern booklet today and although I don't have the yarn for the top I want, I will soon!

I'm also going to start a blanket with squares sewn today...an afghan I guess. I'm going to use size 11 needles I think. It will be a mix of different chunky yarns....each square different.

Well, that's it...I'm out!

The dreaded 2nd sock syndrome

I did it! I beat 2nd Sock Syndrome! I had that itching feeling going on. That...omg, I've already done this once feeling. HA! But I did it and I did it better! I made the second slipper sock with ribbing on the cuff so it isn't so loose. Course, now they don't match exactly...lol...but hey they are for me around the house and they are my first pair so who cares!?

I'm still working on my dishcloth. I had to rip back a few rows. I keep getting confused watching tv or something and purl when I'm supposed to knit or some such mistake. Argh! It is only for my kitchen but I'm a little anal about it I guess.

Today I'm subbing for pre-schoolers and they are at art so I guess I should go get them.

Toodles...

Finished one sock

Well, I finished one of my slipper socks! It is a tad loose around the ankle so I'm doing ribbing on the other one. I know they'll look different but hey...they are for me around the house and it is a learning process right? hehe
You can get the pattern for these on Yarngear.com.

New Projects OTN and snow!

Today is a snow day!!! Yay! Except that I have my dd underfoot but we've had fun today. I'm working on making slipper socks on my KK Loom. Lexi made a snow angel on our porch...lol...and we've decorated a shoe box for school valentines. I actually even got off a letter to my pen pal today. So, I feel pretty productive even tho the house is still a wreck. Hope you all are able to get some knitting done today. I also plan to do some reading in my new book...Knitting Circle!

Another Dishcloth

Cast on another dishcloth this week. I rather like it. It is using up scraps of cotton I received from my dear friend Spillman with my yarnpalooza last weekend. I also made an infant cap on my KK loom for a hospital (probably St. Judes). It is so darling but I didn't take a pic of it yet.
Tomorrow I get to go to the Knaughty Knitter for some much needed down time. I really don't want to take my dd with me but she loves to go...ugh. That is my only time away from everything, ya know?
Well, guess I'm out for now...

Whoopie! Yarn frenzy!

Last night was the Superbowl (good game btw) and we went to a friend's house for the game. This friend is a knitter...guess what she let me do? Shop her stash for free! I brought home a garbage sized sack full of yarn. Some of it is unlabled so I am not sure what it is. Some of it (quite a bit) is cotton dishcloth yarn. Yay, I've been wanting some more of that. Anyway, I was and am quite excited.

I'm almost done with my scarf on my blue KK loom. It is sooo thick and warm! Now, I have to decide what else to put on the needles. Much of the yarn I received will be put to charity knitting. Baby caps and such. Now I'm off to record as much as I can in my stash section at Ravelry!

Hope you all enjoyed your Superbowl gatherings if you had one and your knitting time!
